I applied for a position last Friday. I set up on online resume on usajobs.gov and applied for the position. Today, I thought of a few things that I left out on the resume (not the application questions). If I edit my resume, will it be seen by HR or whomever when the announcement closes tomorrow, or do I need to resubmit? Thanks for any info.

Based on my test, the version of the resume attached to the job application was frozen as of the date of the application. Any post-application edits will not be captured. You will need to resubmit the application. Luckily, the job posting is still open. In my case, I found out after the closing date.

Others might want to chime in.

Just to bump this up for any HR folks. Last night, I submitted for a vacancy in the FBI, and like I always do, I am second guessing my KSAs. I think I possibly could have wrote them better. If I resubmit again, does anyone see the first ones I submitted or does that application just get replaced by a new one? Thanks for any information!

Or maybe another way to word the question, am I able to withdraw my application, redo it, and resubmit it for a position through USAJOBS for a job with the FBI?

        Again, thanks for any help!

Prior to the announcement closing, you can re-apply to the position, edit KSAs, change your assessment answers, do whatever. The last submission is what's evaluated. If you're editing your resume through USAJobs, be sure to edit it FIRST and save it before "applying" to the vacancy to ensure that you've attached the most recent resume.

Thanks for the response! I edited my application last night. I was wondering what would be seen once the announcement closed and am glad only the most recent is what is submitted.

An additional question, I haven't been applying long for federal positions, most (well all) of my job search and interview experience comes from the private sector. So my question is, is it appropriate and or worthwhile to follow-up with the contact listed on the announcement? Most resumes I send in, I try and follow-up on to introduce myself and see where they are in the process. I know the gov can be different and I didn't know if this was an appropriate step to take. Thanks for any response.
